Overview
If a sequence sends nothing, sends fewer emails than you expected, or sends later than planned, the cause is almost always one of the settings below. Work through them in order. They are listed from the most common cause to the least common.
1. Your sender's health is below the pause threshold
If a sender has WarmUp turned on and the Pause cold emails when health falls below checkbox ticked (it is off by default; the threshold defaults to 80), and its health score is under that number, SalesBlink does not schedule any cold emails from that sender. If every sender in the sequence is below the threshold, the sequence shows 0 scheduled.
You may see this message on the sender:
Low Deliverability Score. Health Score is 50. Emails Paused.
When you click Launch Sequence or Schedule for Launch and one or more senders are paused for low health, a Warning popup appears:
Some of your email senders have a low health score based on your configured settings. They won't send sequence emails until their health score improves.
The sequence still launches. Those senders start sending again once their health score is back above the threshold.
To fix it:
- Go to Outreach → Email Senders and check the health score of each sender used in the sequence.
- Let WarmUp rebuild the score, or lower or untick Pause cold emails when health falls below in the sender's settings.
- Re-launch the sequence so the senders are picked up.
Note: Turning the pause setting off means you send cold email from a sender with low health, which can hurt deliverability. See How Sender Health Is Calculated to understand the score.
2. Emails are waiting for approval in the Outbox
If Review emails in Outbox before sending is turned on, every email (including follow-ups) waits in the Outbox until you approve it. Nothing goes out until you do.
- Approve emails in the Outbox one by one, or use Approve & Schedule All for a sequence.
- Bulk approval is not available for AI-personalized sequences. Each AI-written email must be approved individually.
- Turning the setting off only takes effect after you re-launch the sequence.
3. The same sender is used in more than one sequence
A sender's Max emails per day is shared across every sequence that uses it. The sequence that was scheduled first uses up the daily limit, and later sequences wait or roll over to future days.
Tip: Use one sender, or one sender folder, per sequence. This avoids confusion over daily limits and scheduling. See How to Manage Email Senders with Folders.
4. You changed something but didn't re-launch the sequence
Changes to senders, sender folders, sender limits, or the template a step uses only apply after you re-launch the sequence. Until then, the sequence keeps using the old plan. Edits to the content of a template that is already selected apply to emails that haven't been sent yet, without a re-launch.
To re-launch a sequence:
- Open the sequence from Outreach → Sequences.
- Click Save & Schedule (the button reads Edit Sequence while the sequence is running).
- Go through the sequence settings tabs and click Review.
- Click Launch Sequence to start now, or Schedule for Launch to start later.
Re-saving is safe. SalesBlink never resends a step a lead has already received. See How to Edit a Sequence and Unpause or Restart Sequence.
5. The sequence was paused due to bounces
If the bounce rate reaches the sequence's bounce threshold, the sequence is paused automatically and shows Paused due to bounces.
- Clean the list and remove invalid addresses.
- Check your senders for errors or low health.
- Re-launch the sequence. In the sequence settings, adjust the bounce percentage or untick Auto Pause when bounces exceed limit if needed before you click Launch Sequence.
6. Schedule for Leads with Verified Emails is on, but the list isn't verified
If Schedule for Leads with Verified Emails is selected and the list was uploaded without verification, no lead matches the filter, so the sequence has 0 leads to send to. The same happens when risky or invalid leads were auto-archived when the list was uploaded.
To fix it, select Schedule for All Leads (or change the Valid Email, Risky Email, and Invalid Email options) in the sequence settings, or upload the list again with verification turned on. See Lists & Leads.
7. The daily volume is lower than you think
The number of emails a sequence can send per day is limited by your senders, not by the size of your list.
Example: 3 senders × 30 emails per day = 90 emails per day. If emails only go out on weekdays, that is 450 emails per week. A list of 900 leads takes about two weeks just for the first step.
Keep these rules in mind:
- New emails (first steps) are sent before follow-ups.
- Follow-ups count toward the same daily limit, so they slow down new emails as the sequence progresses.
- Random delays and sending hours spread emails across the day and reduce how many fit into one day.
- In the Email Scheduled list, the soonest emails are shown at the bottom.
8. Sending window and timezone
Emails only go out within the sequence's sending hours and days, in the sequence's timezone. If you start a sequence late in the day, only a few emails are sent before the window closes. The rest are sent on the next sending day.
Check the timezone and Configure Sending Hours & Days in the sequence settings, and make sure at least one day is enabled.
9. You added senders after launch
Senders you add to a sequence are only used after you re-launch the sequence. On re-launch, leads that haven't been emailed yet are spread across all the sequence's senders. Leads that have already received an email stay with their original sender, so their follow-ups come from the same address.
10. Large lists and new leads take time to schedule
- Large lists (10,000+ leads) can take from several minutes to a few hours to schedule.
- Leads added through the API only join Evergreen sequences. Scheduling new leads takes 30 minutes to 2 hours.
11. Unsubscribed or archived leads are skipped
Leads that have unsubscribed or been archived can appear as scheduled, then get skipped when the email is due. The lead shows:
Already Unsubscribed Email not Sent
This is expected. SalesBlink never emails unsubscribed leads.
12. Some leads show an error
On the sequence report, click Errors, then hover over the red View error pill to see the reason for each lead. Fix the cause, then edit the sequence and schedule it again to retry. See How to Fix Error Leads in a Sequence.
Common error messages
| Error message | What it means | Who fixes it |
|---|---|---|
Error in Gmail Function - {"code":"ECONNECTION"} |
SalesBlink could not open a connection to the email provider's server when it tried to send. This is usually temporary. | Check that the sender is still connected in Outreach → Email Senders and reconnect it if needed, then reschedule the sequence to retry. Contact support if it keeps happening across many senders. |
554 5.7.1 Spam message rejected |
The receiving mail server rejected the email as spam. This is a content or reputation problem, not a SalesBlink error. | You. Check the sender's health and blacklist status, simplify the email content, and clean the list. See Why Are My Emails Going to Spam. |
Low Deliverability Score. Health Score is 50. Emails Paused. |
The sender's health is below its pause threshold, so cold emails from it are not scheduled. | You. See cause 1 above. |
Already Unsubscribed Email not Sent |
The lead unsubscribed before the email was due. | No fix needed. |
A Source block is required. |
The sequence has no list or other lead source attached. | Add a source block with a list, segment, or CRM source in the Sequence Builder. |
Frequently Asked Questions
My sequence says Running but shows 0 scheduled. What should I check first?
If any sender has Pause cold emails when health falls below turned on, check its health against the threshold, then check the Outbox for emails waiting for approval. These two causes account for most cases.
Will re-saving or rescheduling the sequence send duplicate emails?
No. SalesBlink checks which steps each lead has already received and never sends the same step twice.
I see A Source block is required. when I try to schedule. What does it mean?
No lead source is attached to the sequence. Add a Leads from List(s) block (or another source block), select a list, and save again.
Who do I contact if none of this helps?
Contact SalesBlink support with the sequence name and the time you expected emails to send.
